Too many people judge by appearance, this doesn’t just occur to humans, dont judge a book by its cover.

This is Bosco, he is my pit and i love him so so much, he is sleeping in my bed with my other dog right now. :) I think it’s crazy these great dogs have earned such a bad rep.

In the 20th century the American Pit Bull Terrier was the most popular breed, this “Nanny Dog”, served its part watching over the young children, and even sleeping in their cribs with them!

Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson’s “First Dogs” were pits.

The dog that stayed by Hellen Keller for many years of her life was a pit bull.

Breeders began to take advantage of pits because they are so loyal, easy to train, and have a predisposition to interact well with human. The new trend of breeding “dangerous” fighter dogs began.

Media bias has blown there rep out of proportion, truth is that every year, more than 2,000 children in the U.S. are killed by their parents or guardians either through abuse or neglect. A child is more than 800 times more likely to be killed by their caretaker than by a Pit Bull.

It is not accurate to assess a dog based on appearance, pedigree or history. There is no reason to assume that because a dog has been injured and scarred that he/she is unadoptable, or should be termed a “fighter” or “bait dog”.

With the holiday seasons coming around maybe take a visit to the animal shelter, or donate some money, or even hug your own pet to show that u love them this season!
